ASPI’s Sustainable Energy Program works to advance the use of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and conservation for the common good of the people and the land in Kentucky. We are motivated by the understanding that developing sustainable energy resources is critical to solving the climate crisis, promoting economic justice and prosperity, and ensuring environmental sustainability. For over thirty years ASPI has been an active voice for renewables, efficiency, and conservation and for the past ten years, we have accomplished this work through the Kentucky Solar Partnership (KSP).

KSP works to identify and remove the barriers to the use of solar energy and other sustainable energy options. We provide training workshops and support to solar energy contractors and educational programs for building professionals and the general public. Our Solar Water Heating Program works with the residential and commercial sectors, developing demonstration projects and offering technical assistance services. Our research and advocacy efforts support the use of effective and innovative policies and incentive programs to make solar energy more widely available.
