One thing we all share, within and outside the mountains, is this mystery of aging, this journey from cradle to grave. Wisdom has no better channel than the Elders of our communities. Our 35th edition Simple Lifestyle Calendar features striking photographs from several talented artists, and various ways in which to celebrate nature and the Simple Life. Commemorate with us the many facets of our mountain Seniors and their unique Appalachian heritage.
This black & white wall calendar (11 x 17) offers a unique collection of special days, celebrations, moon phases & seasonal lore - all printed on recycled paper. Wisdom, wonder, quotes & humor - with 366 suggestions to help you listen to the simple, natural rhythms that lead to a more balanced & fulfilling life. All proceeds from calendar sales support the work of Appalachia-Science in the Public Interest - working for healthy land & sustainable communities in Kentucky & Central Appalachia. We use science & technology to benefit current & future generations & the environment by promoting innovative ideas & appropriate technologies. We accomplish this through education, advocacy, research, consulting, & demonstration projects.
Here's what folks are saying...
I raised my children with this calendar as the center of family activity - on the fridge - surrounded by their hand-drawn pictures and family photos. Now they are grown and want a calendar for their own homes! The tradition continues!

I really enjoy the touch of home (USA) that I get from reading all the daily aphorisms and historical notes. I make copies of the calendar and use it in my intermediate and advanced English classes. My Japanese students get a kick out of learning little tidbits of American History and Culture from your calendar. My students are also interested in your neck of the woods as few of them ever meet Americans from Kentucky, Tennessee, etc. Thanks for a little touch of home each day. Your calendar is a great pick-me-up in the morning... and in class!

To me your calendar is flawless, lovely and my daily challenge of simplicity, motivation, reflection. It has been for over 20+ years. Thank you.

Another year is quickly flying by! How I look forward to your lovely calendar - it helps ease the pain of realizing how swiftly the years are rushing past me. One of these years I hope to travel to see your beautiful state!
