A-SPI's Mary E. Fritsch Nature Center is located on approximately 100 acres of mixed mesophytic forest land, the oldest and most varied hardwood forest in North America.  The Land lies on the banks of the beautiful Rockcastle River and adjoins the Daniel Boone National Forest. We are very accessible, only two miles from I-75, yet are surrounded by a beauty that seems far removed from the everyday rush of life, We offer hiking trails and a unique rustic nature center building with many exhibits and hands-on activity opportunities, including a solar demonstration and completely self-contained water system. A bird blind for up-close and personal wildlife viewing is one of our newer additions.
